Bitget Boosts Institutional API Limits for Market Makers
Bitget, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has updated its institutional API rate-limit framework. Effective September 3rd, 2026, the top configurable single-account ceiling for eligible market-maker (MM1) and PRO-tier (PRO6) clients trading under Bitget's unified trading account (UTA) is now 600 requests per second (RPS). This increase applies only to the top MM1 and PRO6 tiers.
The framework also introduces an aggregate master-sub-account rate-limit cap of up to 120,000 RPS for UTA spot and futures trading. Institutions must configure quotas per User ID according to their trading strategy and account structure, ensuring that combined allocations across sub-accounts do not exceed the aggregate cap for each tier.
The new framework allows market makers to raise limits for specific User IDs without opening new accounts, reducing the need to spread activity across multiple instruments or sub-accounts. Bitget advises existing eligible users to complete configuration ahead of the effective date to avoid falling back to default rate limits.
