Bitget Boosts Institutional Trading Capacity with API Rate-Limit Update
Bitget, a global cryptocurrency exchange and Universal Exchange (UEX), has updated its institutional API rate-limit framework to support higher trading volumes. Starting today, eligible market-maker (MM1) and PRO-tier (PRO6) clients can configure their single-account ceiling to up to 600 requests per second (RPS) per unique identifier (UID). This is a significant increase from the previous top configurable limit.
The new framework also introduces an aggregate master-sub-account rate-limit cap of up to 120,000 RPS for UTA spot and futures trading. However, institutions must configure quotas per UID according to their trading strategy and account structure to avoid falling back to a default limit of 10 requests per second.
Bitget's institutional stack includes unified trading accounts, whitelisted sub-account and API management, block trade and OTC. This update is part of the exchange's efforts to provide more flexibility and capacity for its institutional clients.
