Bitget CEO Sees Bitcoin Price Plateau by Year-End Amid Interest Rate Concerns
Bitget CEO Gracy Chen is not optimistic about Bitcoin's price reaching new heights by the end of the year. Speaking on Cointelegraph's Trade Secrets podcast, Chen said that despite its recent surge, she expects BTC to remain broadly around current levels through the end of the year.
The main factors influencing this forecast are interest rates and broader macroeconomic conditions, according to Chen. She pointed out that BTC has become increasingly integrated with traditional finance and is sensitive to these conditions, saying 'if any of that happens, the price should go down, at least theoretically.'
When asked about the possibility of Bitcoin finishing the year above or below $70,000, Chen said it's difficult to predict. However, she did provide a more responsible forecast, stating that her guess is 'maybe around the same range,' with BTC potentially finishing the year $10,000 to $20,000 above or below current levels.
Chen also expressed skepticism about the US government purchasing Bitcoin for its national reserve before the end of President Donald Trump's term. She called such a move unlikely within the next two years, citing the significant policy decision required and the administration's broadly crypto-friendly stance.
