Bitget Expands Beyond Crypto with Universal Exchange Strategy
Bitget is marking its eighth anniversary as it expands beyond cryptocurrency through its Universal Exchange (UEX) strategy, which brings together crypto, traditional markets, and AI-driven trading tools under one platform.
The exchange has seen significant growth in non-crypto assets, with these accounting for up to 40% of its total trading volume over the past year. It has also introduced stock perpetual contracts, US stock options, and Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts, while its rToken product, which tracks traditional market assets through tokenized instruments, has surpassed $100 million in assets under management within five weeks of launch.
AI is another key part of Bitget's expansion, with the introduction of AI Playbook, an autonomous trading agent designed to give users access to AI-assisted trading strategies. According to CEO Gracy Chen, 'The exciting part is that we're still early in what trading can become. Crypto and traditional markets are converging, AI is changing the trading experience, and institutional participation is accelerating.'
As Bitget continues to expand into additional asset classes, it is also increasing its focus on infrastructure, security, and compliance, with plans to grow its Proof of Reserves coverage from four assets to 24 verifiable assets. The company's Protection Fund had an average valuation of approximately $382 million in August 2026.
