Bitget Expands into Bhutan's Digital Asset Market with Gelephu Mindfulness City Partnership

Share

Bitget has signed a cooperation agreement with Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority (GMCA) to advance Bhutan's digital asset industry. The partnership involves establishing a presence in Gelephu Mindfulness City and obtaining regulatory approval to operate in the country.

The two parties will work together on operational, compliance, and ecosystem development initiatives, which are subject to regulatory approval. Bitget aims to establish a legal entity in GMC and submit an application for a Financial Services Licence with the Gelephu Financial Services Office (GFSO).

Bhutan has been gaining momentum in promoting environmentally sustainable cryptocurrency mining due to its abundant hydropower resources, which is part of the country's strategy for economic diversification. The special administrative region of Gelephu Mindfulness City is being developed as an international hub for finance and innovation.
