Bitget Expands rToken Utility with Margin and Lending Capabilities
Bitget, a crypto exchange platform, is expanding the utility of its rTokens beyond spot trading. Eligible rTokens can now be used as margin or collateral for borrowing on the platform.
The move allows users to leverage their existing holdings without selling them first. This can improve capital efficiency and provide more flexibility in trading strategies.
rTokens are tokenized versions of U.S. stocks and ETFs, allowing users to access these assets within a crypto-native trading environment. Bitget's Unified Trading Account (UTA) incorporates over 370 assets, including 100 U.S. stock tokens, into one unified margin pool.
The platform supports 93 stock tokens as collateral for borrowing, with users able to pledge their rTokens to borrow USDT, USDC, and other crypto assets. The effective margin value of rTokens is calculated based on the asset's index price and collateral ratio, which may vary depending on market conditions.
Users should be aware that using rTokens as margin or collateral comes with associated risks, including liquidation risk and borrowing interest.
