Bitget Eyes Asian Expansion with BlackRock Tokenized ETF Talks
Bitget, a major cryptocurrency exchange, is reportedly in close communication with BlackRock about distributing tokenized exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and other digital-asset products in Asian markets. This collaboration could give Bitget a route into conventional investment-product distribution through its tokenized-equity infrastructure and regional user base.
According to Bitget's CEO, Gracy Chen, the discussions are focused on distributing tokenized ETFs and other digital-asset products in Asian markets. No signed agreement has been announced by either company, but the talks indicate a potential partnership between the two financial giants.
The Reality platform, developed by Bitget, supports on-chain representations of equities and ETFs, making it an ideal infrastructure for tokenized securities distribution. The platform's rTokens are backed 1:1 by underlying shares held with a U.S. broker-dealer that is FINRA-registered and SIPC-protected.
Bitget's user base, which has approximately 52% of users holding both stocks and cryptocurrency, presents a significant opportunity for distributing traditional financial products through digital-asset infrastructure. With over 125 million registered users, primarily located in East and Southeast Asia, Bitget could become a major player in the region.
