Bitget Eyes Licensed Presence in Bhutan's Emerging Digital Finance Hub

Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange, has partnered with the Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority (GMC) in Bhutan to explore establishing a licensed local operation.

The agreement could lead to Bitget obtaining a financial services license and contributing its expertise to GMC's emerging digital finance ecosystem.

GMC is a $100 billion autonomous economic zone that aims to create high-value roles in finance, tech, and wellness. It is backed by Bhutan's national Bitcoin reserves.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the company looks forward to contributing its exchange experience, infrastructure knowledge, and local talent development as GMC grows.
