Bitget Eyes Regulated Presence in Bhutan's $100B Economic Zone
Bitget has taken a significant step towards establishing a licensed operation in Bhutan's Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) by signing an agreement with the GMC Authority. The move aims to explore a regulated presence for the crypto exchange within the $100 billion economic zone.
The GMC is a unique entity that operates under its own regulatory structure, separate from Bhutan's national framework. It was created to attract high-value businesses in finance, technology, and wellness.
According to Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, the GMC offers a strong environment for crypto businesses to take root. 'GMC is the emerging hotbed for digital finance, and Bitget looks forward to contributing exchange experience, infrastructure knowledge and local talent development as this ecosystem grows,' Chen said.
