Bitget Marks 8 Years With UEX Expansion and Institutional Trading Push
Bitget is celebrating its 8th anniversary in the crypto market. The exchange has made significant strides towards integrating traditional financial assets and institutional trading into its platform. As part of its Universal Exchange (UEX) strategy, Bitget aims to bring together both crypto and non-crypto markets on a single platform.
In recent times, up to 40% of Bitget's trading volume came from non-crypto assets. The exchange has launched various new products, including stock perpetual contracts, US stock options, Hong Kong stock Quanto contracts, and increased its rToken offering. rToken reached $100 million in assets under management just five weeks after launch and has completed over 3 million trades.
Bitget's AI Playbook is another significant development, featuring an autonomous trading agent that assists AI-based trading strategies. CEO Gracy Chen believes the exchange is still early on in what trading can become, with crypto and traditional markets converging and institutional participation accelerating.
The exchange is also increasing its transparency measures by expanding Proof of Reserves to 24 covered assets from 4. Bitget's Protection Fund averaged $382 million in August 2026, while its institutional client net asset value grew 45% compared to the end of 2025.
