Bitget Pledges $10 Million to Tackle Crypto Gender Gap
Despite controlling over $83 trillion in wealth by 2030, women account for only a quarter of cryptocurrency users globally. Bitget is addressing this disparity with its Crypto Anti-Bias Pledge, which aims to increase female participation in the industry.
The exchange's Blockchain4Her program will allocate $10 million towards education and access initiatives, targeting 1.1 million people by 2027, with 90% expected to be girls and young women. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen noted that excluding half the global population has limited the industry's adoption ceiling.
According to Bitget, female-led blockchain startups receive around 6% of total industry funding, despite research suggesting they generate higher returns per dollar invested. The exchange also reported that more than 40% of its senior management positions are held by women.
