Bitget Restricts Payments to 16 Entities Amid Regulatory Crackdown
Bitget, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has implemented new compliance measures to adhere to stringent regulatory requirements. The move restricts payments to 16 designated entities, including HTX and EXMO, due to increased focus by US and European regulatory agencies.
The restrictions will be phased in over three waves, with the first wave effective on August 7, followed by a second wave on August 13, and the final wave on August 23. The affected entities include ABCeX, Aifory Pro, BitPapa, EXMO Ltd, Exnode, Exnode Pay, HTX (Huobi Global SA), Monease Ltd, NoOnecrypto INC., Rapira, Tradex, and WhiteBird.
Bitget advises customers to thoroughly verify the source of transactions and intermediary service providers. Transactions that touch restricted entities will incur additional scrutiny, and may result in account restrictions or outright termination for violating the platform's terms and conditions.
