Bitget Seeks Asian Expansion with BlackRock Talks

Share

Bitget's CEO Gracy Chen revealed in an interview that the exchange is engaged in talks with major Wall Street financial institutions, including BlackRock, about expanding digital asset operations in Asian markets.

The discussions are part of Asia's rapidly growing presence in the global crypto market, which saw a 69% year-over-year growth rate in the 12 months through June 2025, according to OECD data. Bitget has 125 million registered users globally, with half concentrated in East Asia and Southeast Asia.

BlackRock spokesperson declined to comment on specific expansion plans in the Asian region, but confirmed that the firm's crypto asset ETPs are already trading in Asia. Chen emphasized that collaboration with BlackRock carries significance beyond simply expanding trading volume, as exchanges can function as distribution infrastructure for institutional investors.
