Bitget Wallet Brings Tokenized US Stocks to Its Users
Bitget Wallet has announced that it will start supporting Reality's tokenized US stocks on September 15, expanding its users' access to traditional assets. This move is part of a larger trend in crypto, where blockchain-based platforms are increasingly resembling brokerage accounts.
The integration with Reality's rTokens allows users to trade US stocks and ETFs directly within the Bitget Wallet app, without needing to off-ramp to fiat first. The actual shares backing these tokens are held in custody by Alpaca Securities, a FINRA-registered custodian, and daily third-party Proof of Reserve attestations ensure that the assets are properly secured.
Reality's platform operates under El Salvador's digital asset regulatory framework and has seen respectable growth, with over $152M in total value locked and coverage of more than 600 US stocks and ETFs. The company claims its infrastructure delivers execution latency under 100 milliseconds and zero slippage in certain transaction flows.
This integration is the third in a sequence that Bitget Wallet has been building over the past year, following Ondo Global Markets and xStocks. While Reality being part of the Bitget ecosystem means users should understand the relationship and evaluate the Proof of Reserve attestations accordingly, this vertical integration play is becoming increasingly common in crypto.
