Bitget Wallet Expands Direct Bank Transfer Services to Nigeria and Mexico
Nigeria's stablecoin market is growing rapidly, attracting the attention of Bitget Wallet, which has expanded its direct bank transfer services for users in Nigeria and Mexico.
The service allows users to convert USDT or USDC held in the wallet directly into naira deposited into a Nigerian bank account without first transferring the assets to a separate exchange. This eliminates the need for multiple intermediaries and associated fees, making it a convenient option for users who already hold stablecoins earned through freelance income or cross-border transactions.
Bitget Wallet has reported significant growth in its user base, surpassing 100 million users by July 2026, with payment volume overtaking trading volume for the first time. The company has also issued over 150,000 cards across more than 50 markets, with card spending increasing by 191% in the first half of 2026 compared to the second half of 2025.
The expansion of Bitget Wallet's services comes as Nigeria continues to attract a large share of stablecoin inflows in sub-Saharan Africa. The IMF estimates that Nigeria accounts for around 60% of the region's inflows, with formal remittance data showing an increase in inflows through licensed money transfer operators reaching $1.29bn in the first quarter of 2026.
