Bitget Wallet Joins Japan's Blockchain Council Amid Self-Custody Rule Evolution
Bitget Wallet has joined Japan's largest blockchain industry consortium, the Blockchain Collaborative Consortium (BCCC), amidst evolving self-custody rules in the country. The move comes as regulators and market participants examine how services that allow users to directly control their assets should be treated.
The BCCC is a prominent organization in Japan's blockchain ecosystem, founded in 2016 with over 270 member companies and organizations. Bitget Wallet plans to contribute its operational experience from supporting users across global markets and integrations with more than 130 blockchains.
According to Alvin Kan, COO of Bitget Wallet, 'Japan is one of the few markets where technology development and regulatory clarity are advancing in parallel.' He emphasized that the industry needs standards that protect users without losing sight of how these products actually work. Bitget Wallet aims to bring practical experience from global markets into this conversation and help build frameworks that are useful for users and workable for the industry.
