Bitget Wallet Surpasses 100 Million Users, Stablecoin Adoption Drives Growth in Nigeria
Bitget Wallet has reached 100 million users globally, with a significant presence in Nigeria where stablecoin adoption is driving growth. More than half of Bitget's users are based in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Nigeria accounted for approximately $59 billion in crypto-asset inflows between July 2023 and June 2024, according to the International Monetary Fund. The country also saw significant stablecoin inflows, with dollar-denominated stablecoins becoming an important cross-border payment channel.
Users in markets like Nigeria are increasingly viewing stablecoins as everyday financial tools rather than cryptocurrency investments, said Bitget's Chief Operating Officer Alvin Kan. He noted that this trend is likely to define the future of global finance.
The wallet has introduced a direct bank transfer feature in Nigeria, allowing users to convert stablecoins into naira and settle transactions instantly through partner banks.
