Bitget Wallet Unveils Everyday Finance Account Features in Africa
Bitget Wallet's COO, Alvin Kan, has been busy implementing new features to make crypto use more seamless for African users. In a recent interview with TechCabal, he discussed how the company's goal is to create an everyday finance account that can handle various tasks such as getting paid, holding, spending, and sending money.
According to Kan, the typical user in this part of the world is not someone sending money home, but rather freelancers or businesses who have earned dollars and need to manage their balances. He mentioned a YouGov survey that found 95% of crypto-active Nigerians would prefer to be paid in stablecoins.
Bitget Wallet has launched several features recently, including Mesh, which integrates the wallet with hundreds of platforms; Assetback, which offers cashback rewards in Bitcoin, gold, or tokenized stocks; and a payment partner programme. The company also has an affiliate programme that pays creators for bringing in new users.
Kan emphasized the importance of trust when building a product like this, stating that establishing meaningful user trust takes more time than engineering the product itself. He highlighted the unique structure of their affiliate programme, which eliminates minimum floors and rewards partners for introducing users who continue to actively use the service.
