Bitget's Protection Fund valuation averaged $382 million in August, according to the exchange's latest report. The fund reached its monthly high of $441.5 million on August 27 and had a low of $345.3 million on August 1.

The fund's performance is tied to Bitcoin's price movement, which surged through the second half of the month. In August, Bitcoin rose from $62,773 on August 1 to $78,553 on August 31, an increase of over 25%.

Bitget's Protection Fund operates alongside its Proof of Reserves (PoR) system, which maintains reserves exceeding user assets across major holdings. The exchange's CEO, Gracy Chen, emphasized the importance of strong safeguards in times of market volatility, stating 'Strong markets don't reduce the need for strong safeguards.'
