Bitget's Protection Fund Valuation Reaches New Heights Amid Bitcoin Rally
Bitget's Protection Fund has reported an average valuation of $382 million in August 2026. The fund reached its highest point of the month on August 27, with a valuation of $441.5 million. Despite starting the month at $345.3 million, the fund maintained a value above its initial commitment of $300 million throughout August.
The growth in the Protection Fund's valuation can be attributed to Bitcoin's price surge during the second half of the month. The cryptocurrency rose from $62,773 on August 1 to $78,553 on August 31, representing an increase of over 25% for the month.
Bitget's CEO, Gracy Chen, emphasized the importance of user protection and transparency in the exchange's ecosystem. 'Strong markets don't reduce the need for strong safeguards,' she stated. The Protection Fund operates alongside Bitget's Proof of Reserves (PoR) and serves as an additional layer of security to safeguard user assets during extreme market events.
