BitGo has acquired NYDIG's institutional trading division in a $42.5 million deal, marking one of the most significant transactions in the cryptocurrency market this year.

The acquisition brings approximately 30 professionals from NYDIG's trading team to BitGo and expands its service portfolio to include derivatives trading, structured financial instruments, lending facilities, and comprehensive capital markets operations.

The transaction structure consists of $7 million in immediate cash payment and approximately $35.5 million in BitGo equity, with an additional $15 million earnout component linked to future revenue targets.

BitGo's CEO, Mike Belshe, stated that the deal will substantially expand the firm's trading operations and technological infrastructure, positioning it to accommodate a broader spectrum of institutional participants.
