BitGo Acquires NYDIG's Institutional Trading Business in Crypto Market Expansion
BitGo has acquired NYDIG's institutional trading business in a move that expands its derivatives and financing capabilities. This deal brings approximately 30 employees and around 250 institutional client relationships into BitGo's fold, making it a significant addition to the company's infrastructure.
The acquisition adds structured products, derivatives, and financing services to BitGo's existing custody and wallet security offerings. NYDIG will redirect its resources towards power generation, Bitcoin mining, and high-performance computing data centers following this deal.
BitGo CEO Mike Belshe stated that the acquisition will 'meaningfully scale' the company's trading and infrastructure capabilities, positioning it to serve a wider range of institutional clients.
