BitGo Acquires NYDIG's Trading Business Amid Bitcoin Surge
BitGo has acquired NYDIG's institutional trading business in a move that adds depth to its custody services and positions it for growth as Bitcoin surges past $80,000.
The deal brings around 250 institutional client relationships and roughly 30 employees to BitGo. This acquisition is significant because it fills a gap in BitGo's existing services, allowing the company to offer derivatives and structured products alongside its traditional custody and settlement infrastructure.
This shift reflects a broader trend in the crypto industry: infrastructure providers are increasingly bundling trading, financing, and custody together to make it easier for institutional clients to manage their assets. NYDIG is redirecting its resources towards power generation, Bitcoin mining, and high-performance computing data centers.
