BitGo and Core Chain Launch Real-World Asset Tokenization Framework
BitGo and Core Chain have partnered to launch a tokenization framework for real-world assets, including physical gold, real estate, and fine art. This move brings another institutional custody provider into the rapidly growing real-world asset (RWA) market.
RWAs involve using crypto infrastructure to represent traditional assets on-chain. However, this process requires more than just technology - it also needs a solid legal and custody layer. BitGo's involvement in the Core Chain launch gives it a stronger institutional angle than a simple token launch.
The asset mix is notable. Tokenized gold is relatively easier for investors to understand due to existing financial wrappers, vaulting arrangements, and custody systems. Real estate, on the other hand, is more complex because of varying ownership rights, local laws, liquidity, and transfer restrictions. Fine art adds another layer of challenge with valuation, authenticity, storage, and market access being specialized.
The partnership between BitGo and Core Chain marks a significant step towards making blockchain infrastructure useful to traditional finance in a way that pure token speculation cannot.
