BitGo Bolsters Institutional Services with NYDIG Acquisition
BitGo has acquired NYDIG's institutional trading business in a move that will expand its services for institutional clients. The deal, which is part of BitGo's aggressive expansion efforts, adds derivatives and financing capabilities to BitGo's existing custody and OTC trading infrastructure.
The acquisition represents a natural next step for BitGo, which went public on the NYSE in January 2026 under the ticker BTGO. NYDIG built one of the most comprehensive institutional Bitcoin platforms in the industry, spanning regulated custody, spot and derivatives trading, and financing services. BitGo is absorbing the trading side of that operation.
This acquisition allows BitGo to offer a full-stack institutional offering for its clients, which includes custody, OTC trading, derivatives, financing, and settlement through a single federally chartered entity. This is a significant development in the institutional crypto landscape, as consolidation has practical benefits for investors, including reduced counterparty risk and potentially better pricing.
