BitGo Migrates $7.7 Billion in WBTC to Chainlink CCIP
Chainlink's price has remained steady at $8.20 after BitGo announced that it would use Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to migrate its $7.7 billion Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC). This move reinforces Chainlink's position as a provider of institutional-grade cross-chain infrastructure and strengthens the project's institutional adoption narrative.
BitGo evaluated multiple interoperability solutions before selecting CCIP, citing that it was the only solution that meets institutional security requirements. By deprecating its legacy bridging provider, BitGo is now using CCIP as its exclusive cross-chain infrastructure for future BitGo-issued assets.
The TradingView chart shows Chainlink's price trading above immediate support near $8.15 but below its 200-day moving average at $9.01. Traders are waiting to see if institutional adoption translates into greater network usage and sustained buying interest, with a sustained move above $8.72 confirming renewed buying strength.
