Bithumb Formalizes 2028 IPO Roadmap After Years of Delays

Share

Bithumb, South Korea's second-largest crypto exchange by trading volume, has formalized its plans to go public in 2028. The company published a customer notice on Monday outlining a three-phase plan that includes upgrading internal controls and converting to Korean IFRS accounting standards by 2026.

In 2027, Bithumb will file for a preliminary listing review with the Korea Exchange. The IPO itself is targeted for 2028, subject to market conditions and regulatory review timelines.

The notice formalizes guidance given by Bithumb's CFO in March. This marks the latest reset of a listing timeline that has been delayed multiple times over the years.
