Bithumb Halts MINA Transactions Ahead of Mina Network Upgrade
Korean cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb announced that it will temporarily halt deposits and withdrawals of MINA, its native token, to support an upcoming network upgrade. The suspension is scheduled to begin at 5:00 a.m. UTC on September 3.
The Mina protocol uses zero-knowledge proofs to keep its blockchain size constant, making it one of the most lightweight protocols in the industry.
Bithumb stated that the pause is necessary to ensure network stability during the upgrade and prevent potential issues such as lost transactions or processing errors. The exchange has not specified the exact duration of the suspension but will resume services once the upgrade is confirmed stable and the necessary technical adjustments are completed.
