Bithumb has announced its plan to go public in 2028 after upgrading its governance, compliance, and financial reporting systems. The exchange aims to complete its Korean International Financial Reporting Standards (K-IFRS) transition and internal control improvements by 2026.

In preparation for the initial public offering (IPO), Bithumb is restructuring its business, strengthening risk management, and expanding disclosures to support a public listing. The company is also working with leading domestic accounting firms to build a risk management framework and convert its financial reporting from Korean Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (K-GAAP) to K-IFRS.

The exchange has reorganized parts of its corporate structure by spinning off Bithumb Asset to define responsibilities across business units more clearly. It is also expanding its business model, increasing liquidity reserves, and improving financial stability before seeking a public listing.
