BitMart Announces Permanent Shutdown by January 31, 2027
BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its plans to shut down permanently on January 31, 2027. The company will gradually cease trading services over several stages, starting with a halt to new user registrations and deposit acceptance on July 26, 2026.
The wind-down will see spot trading, futures accounts, and other automated services gradually disabled by August 26, 2026. After this date, users will still be able to log in to their accounts for some time to view transaction history and submit asset withdrawal requests.
BitMart has advised users to complete or update their Know Your Customer (KYC) information, cancel open orders, close trading positions, redeem Earn and staking products, and withdraw assets as soon as possible. The exchange has warned that certain requests may be subject to additional checks due to legal requirements, AML/KYC procedures, sanctions screening, and Travel Rule requirements.
BitMart's closure is part of a broader trend of consolidation in the crypto exchange market, with BitMEX also announcing its cessation of operations after 12 years. The company emphasized that its staff will never ask users to pay for 'expedited withdrawals,' 'account unblocking,' or provide private keys or seed phrases.
