BitMart Employees Demand Answers Over Frozen Funds and Unpaid Salaries
BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange that recently shut down its services, is facing allegations of asset mismanagement. A group claiming to be employees took control of the exchange's Chinese X account and accused BitMart founder Sheldon Xia and partner Yi Li of failing to explain frozen user funds and unpaid salaries.
The alleged employees demanded that Xia and Li answer five key questions by August 19th. They want to know where user funds are being held, why some customers still can't withdraw their money, and when management first knew there were problems with withdrawals.
They also requested an investigation into all funds related to BitMart user assets and for the company to pay its employees' due salaries and compensation in full. Additionally, they want a clear repayment plan for users by August 19th.
Xia quickly responded, saying that the posts were based on fabricated rumors and that the company had collected evidence of the claims. He said BitMart would file a police report and send a lawyer's letter to X for technical and data checks.
