BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its decision to shut down operations. The platform will cease trading services on August 26 and completely close by January 31, 2027.

The move comes after a significant decline in the value of BitMart's native BMX token, which fell approximately 70% over the weekend, dropping from $0.31 to $0.095.

BitMart cited long-term goals, market conditions, and business operations as factors behind its decision to shut down. The exchange has already stopped accepting new user registrations and deposits, with spot markets no longer allowing new trading orders.
