BitMart Exchange to Shut Down Trading August 26, Citing Market Conditions
Crypto exchange BitMart announced that it would shut down trading on August 26, 2026, and fully cease operations on January 31, 2027. The decision to close was attributed to 'operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction' by the company.
The BMX token, which is native to BitMart, plummeted over 55% following the shutdown announcement. The collapse of the token's value has left users concerned about their investments.
BitMart advised users to complete identity verification, close open positions, and submit withdrawal requests before August 26. However, withdrawals may be delayed due to identity checks, sanctions screening, Travel Rule compliance, and blockchain congestion.
