BitMart Hints at Reopening Amid Restructuring Plans
BitMart has reversed its decision to shut down and is now considering reopening parts of its exchange. The news comes just five days before the August 26 deadline that was set to mark the end of all trading on the platform.
The exchange's original shutdown notice, published in July, pointed to operating conditions and future strategy as reasons for the closure. However, traders interpreted this as a sign of financial difficulties, leading to a sharp decline in the price of BitMart Token (BMX), which crashed 46% overnight to around $0.11.
A new update on the exchange's plans reveals that it is instead building a restructuring plan, which would allow for a phased restart 'alongside distributions to creditors.' This has sparked concerns among users who had been expecting full closure and potential payouts.
