BitMart Shuts Down Trading Operations Amid Strategic Review
BitMart has decided to shut down its trading operations due to 'operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction.' The decision was announced on July 26, with a phased shutdown of services, including new registrations, deposits, and orders. By August 26, all spot, futures, and other trading services will cease.
BMX, the exchange's platform token, plummeted by around 63% in the 24 hours following the announcement. BitMart warned users to close all positions before August 26 and recommended submitting withdrawals before 05:00 UTC on the same day. Withdrawals remain open but may face identity checks, security reviews, or network congestion.
The exchange will maintain limited account access until January 31, 2027, when it plans to terminate trading-platform operations. BitMart emphasized that users should rely on official channels and not fall victim to potential scams exploiting the shutdown.
