BitMart to Halt Trading by August 26, Cease Operations in January
BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange, has announced that it will shut down its trading platform. The firm will end all trading services on August 26 and fully cease operations on January 31, 2027.
The exchange has stopped accepting new user registrations and deposits, and futures trading is now in reduce-only mode. Spot markets no longer accept new orders, which can affect liquidity and make it harder for users to reposition or exit positions.
BitMart's native token BMX fell sharply after the announcement, losing nearly 70% of its value in a short period. This drop came as user complaints about withdrawals surfaced, with some reporting that Tether's USDT withdrawals were taking longer than usual.
