BitMart Users Left Stranded as Insolvency Concerns Mount

Share

BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange, has been at the center of controversy following its closure announcement in July 2026. Users have complained about withdrawal delays and suspicions of insolvency, with on-chain analytics experts detecting anomalies in transactions.

According to Lookonchain, only $805,000 was withdrawn from the exchange across 58 wallets in a 24-hour period, which is an extremely low amount for such a platform. The experts also reported that there had been no successful withdrawal transactions for eight hours.

BitMart CEO Sheldon Xia assured users that the team was working on asset consolidation and an orderly winding down of operations, emphasizing that the company had not misappropriated user funds.

'We have not misappropriated any assets and have not taken any steps towards early withdrawal of funds or evading our obligations. We are considering involving courts and independent third-party auditors to prepare a transparent report,' he stated.
