BitMart has announced it will be winding down its exchange operations, ceasing trading by August 26th and officially shutting down on January 31st, 2027. The company cited a 'careful evaluation of the Company's operating conditions, market environment, and future strategic direction' as the reason for the closure.

The move has caused BitMart's BMX token to plummet by nearly 60% in the past 24 hours, cutting its circulating market capitalization to around $22.5 million.

New registrations, deposits, and trading orders have been suspended since Sunday, with all trading services expected to be discontinued on August 26th at 1:00 UTC.
