Arthur Hayes, co-founder of BitMEX, has made a significant purchase of Uniswap's governance token, UNI. According to on-chain analysis tools, he bought 244,406 UNI tokens for $1.73 million through an over-the-counter (OTC) deal with Flowdesk.

The price per token was approximately $7.06, which is a notable increase from Hayes' previous purchase in November 2025, when he acquired 28,670 UNI tokens for around $244K.

This latest transaction is significant not only because of the size but also due to its timing. There are no current governance proposals or protocol upgrades that would typically justify such a large buy. Hayes appears to have made this purchase based on his conviction in Uniswap's future.
