BitMEX Co-Founder's $5.3 Million Donation Fuels UK Crypto Scandal

Share

Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, has accepted significant donations from figures tied to the crypto industry. The party received $7.3 million in the second quarter of 2026, with BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo contributing 74% of that amount.

According to records from the UK's Electoral Commission, Delo made two separate contributions to Reform UK in April: 1 million and 3 million pounds, which is approximately $1.3 million and $4 million, respectively.

This has raised questions about potential influence on policies related to digital assets. Nigel Farage is currently under investigation after receiving millions of dollars' worth of donations and gifts from two figures tied to the crypto industry: Christopher Harborne and George Cottrell.
