BitMine Buys Record 28K ETH as Trezor Unveils Clear Signing Support
Ethereum's price has seen a modest gain of 1.8% over the past 24 hours, trading at around $2,516 as of September 9, 2026. This increase in value is accompanied by a significant boost in trading volume, reaching $11.85 billion. BitMine, a prominent Ethereum treasury company, continues to expand its large corporate position, holding an impressive 5,929,198 ETH, worth approximately $14.79 billion.
This represents about 4.9% of the total circulating supply and underscores the growing institutional appetite for direct Ethereum exposure. BitMine has been steadily purchasing ETH since June 30, 2025, adding another 28,086 coins last week to its treasury. The company's staking position is substantial, with 85% of its holdings (5,067,309 coins) locked into staking, generating an estimated $330 million in annualized revenue.
Trezor, a leading hardware wallet manufacturer, has introduced Clear Signing support through the ERC-7730 standard. This innovation aims to simplify and secure transactions by providing users with clear and concise information about the actions being taken before signing. The Ethereum Foundation's Trillion Dollar Security Initiative provided a $50,000 grant to support this development.
These developments demonstrate the maturing of the Ethereum ecosystem on two fronts: deeper institutional participation and stronger consumer-grade protections. While they do not guarantee a specific price outcome, they are significant infrastructure and demand signals that market watchers tend to track closely.
