BitMine Closes In on 5% Ethereum Ownership Milestone
BitMine Immersion Technologies has made significant strides in its pursuit of owning 5% of all Ethereum tokens. As of August 30, 2026, the company's combined holdings gave it a 4.9% stake in Ethereum, putting it just 1.1 percentage points shy of its target. This milestone is notable given that BitMine's treasury has grown to $15.6 billion, anchored by 5.90 million ETH tokens and $541 million in cash and marketable securities.
The company attributes its success to a steady buying strategy initiated on June 30, 2025, when it launched its ETH Treasury Strategy. BitMine has purchased ETH every week since then, with the most recent holdings valued at over $12.7 billion. This aggressive approach is projected to generate substantial staking rewards through its MAVAN platform.
The platform's annualized staking rewards are estimated at around $340 million at current levels and could reach as high as $396 million if all of BitMine's ETH is fully staked. This growth, coupled with the company's influence in crypto markets, has reinforced its position as a leading Ethereum treasury and digital asset management provider.
