BitMine Immersion Technologies Sees $2.21 Billion Ether Holdings Increase
BitMine Immersion Technologies' Ether holdings have seen a significant increase of $2.21 billion, as Ether surged to approximately $2,273 on Friday. The value of BitMine's Ether reserves rose from its previously reported level of $11.01 billion on Sunday to $13.22 billion. This marks an 11.7 times greater gain than the $189.1 million inflow to U.S. spot ether funds on Thursday.
The company disclosed holding 5,815,164 Ether tokens as of August 17, accounting for 4.8% of the total 120.7 million token supply in the network. Roughly 87% of the declared tokens were staked, enabling potential yield opportunities but also bringing risks related to validators, liquidity, and protocol.
The strengthening ETH-to-bitcoin ratio is attributed to Ethereum's expanding use cases by Chairman Thomas Lee. He noted that markets are witnessing 'materialization of tokenization and agentic-AI applications.' The rise in Ether value has been driven by increasing demand for ETFs, particularly BlackRock's fund, which accounted for nearly two-thirds of the reported daily inflow.
