Bitmine Nears 5% Ethereum Goal After Adding Another 9,926 ETH
Bitmine is rapidly approaching its ambitious goal of owning 5% of Ethereum's total supply. The company, backed by Tom Lee, has been steadily purchasing ETH and now holds approximately 5.82 million coins, putting it around 96% of the way toward its target.
This accumulation campaign makes Bitmine one of the largest institutional crypto-buying programs currently underway, with a total value of around $11 billion. The company's strategy is not just about price speculation, but also about positioning Ethereum as infrastructure for financial assets and automated blockchain-based transactions.
Most of Bitmine's ETH holdings are already staked, generating recurring income rather than relying solely on future market appreciation. The company estimates that annual staking rewards could reach around $287 million, with projected annualized staking revenue at approximately $250 million.
