BitMine Nears Milestone in Ethereum Accumulation as Revenue Projections Soar
BitMine's stock price has been on a rollercoaster ride in recent years, plummeting from a high of $160 last year to its current trading value of around $15.80. Despite this decline, the company remains above its year-to-date low of $12.86.
The firm is nearing an important milestone as it accumulates Ethereum coins. BitMine has already acquired over 5.77 million ETH, valued at more than $11 billion. To reach its target of 6 million, the company needs to buy approximately 222,532 Ethereum coins, currently worth around $422 million.
This purchase will have a significant impact on BitMine's shareholders as it is expected to conclude the dilution that has pushed the company's outstanding shares from less than 239 million last year to 603 million. Once the purchases are complete, BitMine will transition from being a highly dilutive firm into a cash generator through staking its Ethereum holdings.
The estimated annual return on these holdings is around 3%, generating approximately 180,000 coins valued at over $342 million annually. This revenue potential has led analysts to predict that BitMine's annual revenue will jump to $125 million this year and reach $429 million next year. For comparison, a similar company, SharpLink (NASDAQ:SBET), has already generated 23,918 ETH tokens in revenue since it started staking its tokens.
