Bitmine Surpasses $14B in ETH Holdings as Crypto Market Recovers
Bitmine Immersion Technologies has made its largest Ethereum purchase yet, adding 53,501 ETH to its holdings last week. This brings Bitmine's total Ether holding to over 5.9 million ETH, valued at approximately $14.8 billion based on an Ether price of $2,511 as of Sunday.
This significant purchase has propelled Bitmine into the top spot among Ethereum holders, with its stash now accounting for 4.9% of the cryptocurrency's circulating supply. This puts it within striking distance of its goal of owning 5% of the total Ether supply.
According to Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies, Ether has been the leading performer among major assets since June 30, followed by Bitcoin (BTC) and Solana (SOL). He believes this performance sets the stage for institutions to add to their crypto holdings given the substantial outperformance of crypto versus other macro assets in 3Q so far.
