BitMine's ETH Holdings Surpass 4.8%, Raising Stakes for Ethereum Governance

BitMine Immersion Technologies has accumulated an impressive 5.82 million ETH, representing approximately 4.8% of Ethereum's total circulating supply. This significant concentration of assets has raised questions about the impact on available supply, staking yields, and Ethereum governance.

The company's treasury now holds a substantial reserve of $11.4 billion, with nearly 87% of its reserves locked in staking through its proprietary MAVAN infrastructure. This operation generates an annual yield of 2.61%, projected to reach $250 million in recurring revenue.

BitMine's management plans to make its MAVAN network available to other institutional investors and third-party custodians after activation, which could further concentrate Ethereum's staking power in the hands of a single entity.
