Bitmine's Staking Income May Soon Outpace Buying Spree
Bitmine, a Nasdaq-listed treasury company, is continuing to acquire Ethereum (ETH) despite its growing stash of staked tokens. The company disclosed that it bought 53,501 ETH through August 30, bringing its total holdings to 5.9 million tokens.
This purchase pushes Bitmine closer to its publicly stated goal of owning 5% of the Ethereum supply. According to estimates, Bitmine already has over 5.06 million ETH staked at an annualized seven-day yield of 2.67%.
But buying may no longer be necessary for Bitmine to reach its target. Analysts suggest that the company's existing position means staking income can become a major acquisition engine, potentially finishing what buying started.
