Bitminter Founder-Linked Address Sees Significant 829 BTC Transfer
A significant transfer of Bitcoin has been detected on the blockchain. According to Emmett Gallic, an on-chain analyst, an address associated with Geir Harald Hansen, founder of Bitminter, transferred 829 BTC.
The transfer is notable because some of the transferred BTC have been dormant for as long as 8 years. Bitminter was a prominent mining pool that at its peak accounted for nearly 10% of the Bitcoin network's hashrate and mined a total of 208,232 BTC.
The on-chain activity highlights the ongoing movement of assets within the Bitcoin ecosystem, with dormant funds coming back into circulation. This development is being closely watched by analysts and market participants alike as it can have implications for the overall health and dynamics of the network.
