Bitpanda Slapped with €70K Fine Over MiCA Violations

Share

Austria's Financial Market Authority (FMA) has fined Bitpanda €70,000 for violating MiCA requirements involving white paper deadlines and marketing rules.

The decision is final and marks the first major enforcement action under the new European regulatory regime for crypto-assets.

The fine stems from two main issues: Bitpanda failed to submit its crypto-asset white paper at least 20 working days prior to publication, as mandated by Article 8 of MiCA.

The platform also distributed advertising materials before the white paper was published, lacking mandatory information required by MiCA for crypto-asset advertising, including a warning statement and contact details.
